CYBERSTEEL, a leading supplier of high-tech seamless, stainless steel tubes and pipes, has supplied 400,000 meters of pipes for the construction of El-Dabaa nuclear power plant in Egypt.
Pipes intended for steam generators were manufactured under a special order, measuring 16x1.5 mm and made of 08Х18Н10Т steel that ensures strength and wear resistance.
All products passed comprehensive non-destructive tests, including outer and inner surface, dimensional testing, as well as 14 other tests at our own CYBERLAB R&D center. Test results are recorded in a CYBERSTEEL Certificate of Quality. In addition, the metal used in pipes has passed incoming inspection for non-metallic inclusions and chemical composition, which includes control of cobalt content below 0.015%, as determined by atomic absorption spectrometry.CYBERSTEEL has a successful record of supplying products for the nuclear industry — this is our fourth project that involves the construction of nuclear power plants abroad. In this particular case we managed to cut cobalt content in the metal by three times: no more than 0.015%. This was possible through the joint efforts of the company's experts and blanks manufacturer when mastering a new alloy in the shortest term.
El-Dabaa NPP is Egypt's first nuclear power plant to be built in El-Dabaa town, Matrouh Province on the Mediterranean coast, 300 km northwest of Cairo. El-Dabaa NPP is being constructed under Rosatom State Corporation’s project and will include four power units 1,200 MW each, equipped with VVER-1200 reactors (water-water energetic reactors) of III+ generation.
